The Allegro DVT ALMosaic real-time mosaic generator is an IP in/out audio/video device capable of building a user-configurable mosaic. It can be used for channel browsing, or for monitoring. Typical uses include:

• add mosaic channels to your EPG. You may for instance create thematic mosaic channels, where consumers can view all sports channels, kids channels or info channels on a single mosaic page and select the one to switch to.
  
• in your professional head-ends, monitor the IPTV feeds you deliver to consumer networks and check that every video and audio feed is live.

The device ingests up to 20 MPEG-2 or H.264 video input feeds on IP and displays them as video thumbnails assembled into one single video output. The 20 thumbnail sizes and positions can be set independently over a user-defined background picture and the scene can be manually or automatically updated. The composited scene is delivered in SPTS/UDP/IP, encoded in MPEG-2 or H.264 up to HD resolution and multiplexed with the thumbnails' associated audio feeds. ALMosaic supports audio pass-through and audio re-encoding, displays dynamic audio bargraphs and issues SNMP alarms for audio silence, video freeze, etc.

Several ALMosaic servers can be cascaded to deliver an unlimited number of channels on a single video page.

The device is packaged in a single rack unit (19” x 1RU). It is easily administered by SNMP and supports redundancy with N+P flexible schemes and network teaming.
